About Me

I was born, raised, and currently live in southern California. My parents immigrated to the United States from Afghanistan.

I live at home with my parents and two younger brothers. I am very blessed to have two very kind and supportive parents. Also, I have been blessed with a kind extended family as well that all love me despite all of my imperfections.

I graduated from the University of California Irvine with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in the Spring of 2017.

I was actually born with a rare disability called möbius (moebius) syndrome. Without going into too much detail this condition causes many people, including myself, to have difficulty making facial expressions and moving their eyes.

The way that this disability has impacted my life the most is that it has severely affected my speech. Basically, it is very difficult for others to understand me when I speak. In fact, this is why I’m so passionate about blogging. I truly feel that I can best express myself through my writing and I hope that I can positively impact the lives of others through this blog 🙂

I am definitely an introvert however, I still love people and I love communicating with them through writing and the online world.

I am interested in many different topics ranging from physical and mental health to skincare and spirituality and I hope to be able to blog about many of these topics.

If you like my posts please make sure to subscribe to the blog! I hope that you will join me and support me on my blogging journey!

  1. Hey Yasmin,

I love your blog and thought this project I have going on would be right up your alley. I’m Marianne from Personal Capital by the way!

What do you think about growing up and checking off those must do’s in your 20s and 30s? There’s fun stuff like traveling the world, applying for that dream job, and finding true love, but then there’s the responsible stuff like managing your finances (paying off student loans, planning for retirement, and buying a home).

It’d be great if you’d like to share your 5-10 checklist items you recommend checking off in a post on your blog?

It could be a fun way to get others motivated to get their “grownup on”! Please let me know your thoughts when you get a moment. 🙂

    Talk to you soon!
    Marianne

    1. Hi Marianne,

Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. I am open to writing posts about a variety of different topics as long as they stay true to who I am and my personal beliefs and goals in life. My main goal is to always be honest with my readers. I am truly humbled that you have contacted me and if you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact me at yasmineraoufi@gmail.com

  2. Do not fret over your speech “problems.” Continue to hone your writing skills. They are more important anyway. No one talks about how clever Wm. Shakespeare was at teas and cocktail parties, but we all remember favorite lines from his sonnets and plays 500+ years later. You have the greater gift.

About my own blog, I am somewhat lewd or randy from time to time… I hope this don’t disturb you; my aim is always positive 🙂 Big Hugs and Best Wishes !!!
